What to do if your Credit Card has been lost or stolen?


To some, credit cards are as valuable as their life insurance, so it only makes sense to take good care of it. However accidents do happen and in the rare case that it was either lost or stolen, one must be prepared to deal with it. Loosing a Credit Card can be a frightening experience. As soon as you notice your Credit Card missing you should contact your Credit Card issuer straight away. Most Credit Card providers have 24 hour hotline for lost or stolen credit cards.

The Credit Card provider can put a stop on your credit card to prevent other people from using it. (When traveling overseas it is always wise to carry the global emergency number for lost/stolen cards.)

Report your Credit Card Lost or Stolen if:

  • your card has been lost or stolen
  • you notice your card has been used by someone else
  • your pin has been compromised
